CEO Askof Productions Limited Founder: Africa Outstanding Women Awards


Afua Asantewaa, widely known as a media personality. Born on May 11, in Ghana - West Africa, Afua grew up in a musical household, with her father as a drummer and her mother as a singer. This early exposure ignited her passion for music, leading her to join church and school choirs during her formative years. Her academic journey took her through Achimota School Primary and JSS Department, where she not only excelled in academics but also actively participated in extracurricular activities. Subsequently, she pursued marketing studies at Sunyani Polytechnic before delving into journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (G.I.J), graduating with honors. Afua's career began in the field of journalism, contributing her skills to various media outlets in Ghana. However, her love for music remained steadfast.


Afua is the CEO of Askof Productions Limited, a legally registered company in Ghana. Established in 2014, the production house empowers and inspires women and girls through creativity, pageantry, philanthropy, and awards initiatives. Notably, Askof Productions Ltd organizes and manages events such as the Africa Outstanding Women Awards, Ghana Outstanding Women Awards, Pose For Africa Models Reality Show, and Miss Kidi Ghana/Africa.

Afua's commitment to recognizing and honoring women's contributions to society is evident in the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA), an initiative she founded in August 2017. GOWA aims to acknowledge women in Ghana and Africa who dedicate themselves to the welfare of humanity through charity and socio-economic developmental projects.


In addition to GOWA, Afua is the founder of the Africa Outstanding Women Awards, launched in July 2018. This initiative celebrates and honors women across Africa devoted to the welfare of humanity. Through her role as CEO of Askof Productions Limited, Afua actively engages in public speaking, public relations, event planning, and broadcast journalism.


Her impact extends beyond the entertainment industry, as she served as a Sports Journalist at Multimedia Ghana Limited from September 2016 to June 2019. Additionally, Afua is recognized for her influential role as the 2nd Princess of Miss Tourism Ghana, further solidifying her presence in the public eye.


As a social impact advocate, Afua Asantewaa demonstrates her commitment to philanthropy through the ASAA CARE FOUNDATION. Established in September 2014, this charity organization undertakes an annual 'Mama' project on Mother's Day, visiting selected regions and communities in Ghana to support newly delivered but stranded mothers.

Afua's determination and talent recently manifested in her ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual in December 2023. During a poignant moment on Joy Prime's morning show, she expressed her deep admiration for the late Ghanaian musician, Ebony Reigns, whose musical prowess and stagecraft profoundly influenced her own artistic journey.


With a strong social media presence boasting over 1.7 million followers on Instagram and Facebook as of December 2023, Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum continues to captivate audiences with her music marathon, advocacy, and contributions to recognizing outstanding women in Africa.
